North Carolina Internist Dr. John D. Carr Joins Wellness Physician at Platt Medical Center in Palm Desert, CA

Los Angeles, CA - Dr. John D. Carr, Board Certified Internist, has joined Platt Medical Center at 73-345 Highway111, Suite 203, in Palm Desert, CA, to “advance the concept of natural hormonal balancing with good nutrition, proper supplements, and stress reduction techniques to get the body back in balance,” states Carr.

Platt Medical Center, founded by Board Certified Internist Dr. Michael E. Platt, is nationally known for its controversial wellness and preventive approach to medicine through the use of bio-identical hormones for ADD/ADHD, fibromyalgia, osteoporosis, PMS/menopause, sexual health, and weight loss. Platt, who has been in practice 33 years, says “discovering John Carr is the result of a four year search for a physician compatible with my approach to wellness. His love of medicine is very apparent, along with his ability to identify the causation of illness.”

“The main reason I joined Dr. Platt’s practice,” adds Carr, “besides our similar wellness philosophy, is that I met a physician who really cares about his patients. We spend an hour or more with a new patient. They tell us what’s wrong. It’s key for us to work this way, to be very involved with our patients.”

Dr. Carr, who was born and raised in Rhode Island, attended the University of Miami, Florida, as both an undergraduate and medical student. As a medical student, he trained at a big county hospital, Jackson Memorial, where he worked in the trauma center. As a resident at Cornell/Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, he rotated between three facilities – Cornell/Sloan-Kettering Cancer (a specialty hospital), Northshore Hospital in Long Island (private), and New York Hospital in Manhattan (public). He later became Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and subsequently established a private internal medicine practice in Charlotte, N.C.
